What Boarding Looks Like in My Home

When your dog stays with us, they’re not just being “watched”, they’re thoughtfully integrated into a calm, structured home environment designed to help them feel safe, settled, and supported.

Their Own Space to Decompress

Each boarding dog has their own private room to unwind and settle in. This space includes their crate and serves as their sleeping area for the duration of their stay.

I’ve found that when client dogs have a designated space of their own, they relax much more quickly. Having a quiet area to decompress helps reduce overstimulation and allows them to feel secure in a new environment.

I also tend to keep client dogs and my personal dogs separate. This allows everyone to settle fully without added pressure and keeps the energy balanced and predictable.

Structured Time in the Home

While their room is their reset space, dogs also spend time in our living areas. I have place cots set up in the living room where they can hang out with my husband and me.

This time is intentional. It allows us to reinforce any training you’re currently working on (place work, calm settling, impulse control, etc.) while helping your dog practice being relaxed in a shared space.

Enrichment & Yard Time

At home, dogs enjoy plenty of yard time where we engage in structured play, sniffing, and short training sessions. This is in addition to the two walks your pup will get in a day, and depending on their energy levels, the duration of the walks will change, but most walks are at 30 minutes minimum.

We practice settling in between activity so they don’t stay in a constant state of excitement. The goal is balanced engagement, movement, mental stimulation, and then calm recovery.

A Calm, Neutral Environment

Our home is intentionally a calm, neutral space. That steady energy doesn’t change when we have a boarding dog.

Dogs thrive when expectations are clear and the environment feels predictable. My goal is for your dog to return home not overstimulated, but regulated, rested, and fulfilled.
